Viral Marketing is the rapid spread a message by a number of means. Viral marketing is an inexpensive marketing method with a rapid and widespread response.

They told just 20 people about the site. Word spread quickly (with the help of a tell a friend link) and the site received 20 million hits in the first week alone. Viral marketing succeeded by bringing in high traffic as well as widespread media coverage worth far more than the cost of the viral marketing campaign.

Now a simple viral marketing system is the use of a banner ad or link on a web page that is part of a free viral marketing network. Its were you add you banner to the top then tell everyone you know to do the same.
Every time someone joins they add their banner to the top then start to promote their page with your banner displayed in position N°2, so they publicize your banner for you and you will also benefit from their visitors.

When this new affiliate goes on to recruit their own affiliates, your banner will move to position N°3; these new affiliates will also be publicized their site with your banner and you will benefit again and again … This is the power of viral marketing.
